Scissors is a fork of Paper which was initially designed to patch exploits used on the TotalFreedom server. The project was started on March 12, 2022[1] by players LunaWasFlaggedAgain and VideoGameSmash12. The first exploit Scissors patched was the Infinity Cart. Initially, this exploit was patched by Telesphoreo in a private fork of Paper. Lead Developer Paldiu initially got mad at Telesphoreo due to a misunderstanding about what was patched. The JAR for the private Paper fork was pulled and shortly after, the Scissors project was born. The project initially supported version 1.17.1 for TotalFreedom. Telesphoreo ported all of the patches to 1.18.2 and other versions after 1.17.1. On July 22, 2023, Scissors was added to bStats[2].
