On March 12, 2022, Scissors was created due to the TotalFreedom development team's growing dissatisfaction with Paper.<ref name="rebrand"/> It was shortly thereafter used to patch an [[Exploits#Infinity_Cart|exploit]]<ref name="MolesL">https://github.com/AtlasMediaGroup/Scissors/commit/347ea8905cd8ffdf49363c0e03d24e21cfe579b1</ref> that was being used to repeatedly crash the server.
